Cooking gas were looted from the street as vehicle driving on the road. A group of youth claiming themselves agitators looted the gas cylinders, shared the victim. All the looters were unknown. Police Force also confirmed that the gas cylinders carrying in the capital were looted during the ongoing indefinite general shutdown in the Madhes. Businesses are facing hard time as there is a shortage of food items like noodles and biscuits. Local traders said that the Kathmandu Valley is reeling under a shortage of essentials like salt, edible oil, pulses and rice, apart from petroleum products and medicines. Essentials are scarce to find in the market. “Or else essentials are priced higher than normal price,” she said. A cabby driver Suresh Thapa of Ramechhap, now living in Koteshwor, said that he was queuing up at Bhadrakali petrol station for the past five days, but is yet to refill his vehicle. Urging the government to ease the supply of petroleum products as soon as possible.
